Whilst we hold stock of foils and inks, for new projects we start with Our Process where we look at the part you want to mark, with what print/artwork and suggest the best consumable for your needs.
We have a large range of stamping foils including metallic, pigment and holographic foils. The right foil needs to be chosen for the right application so we will discuss with you what your base material is, what machinery you are using, how it is set up and then recommend the best one to you.
Whether you want to print on plastic, fabric, wood or any other material, we can help. We often send out samples so that you can test new foils yourselves.
Thermal transfers are a great way to utilise a hot stamping process to print artwork that may have complex designs or many colours. They are suitable for a wide range of materials including rigid plastic, flexible plastic, suede, aged leather, leather, elastic fabric, non-woven fabric, furniture fabrics, metal and chrome surfaces.
Dies and Type
As part of the hot stamping process, the tooling is a key element for the success of your project. As always, we will follow our process to ensure that the correct type of die is used for the correct application.
You can either choose the following element for your bespoke artwork :
- Silicone rubber dies/ sheets/wheels
- Magnesium dies
- Brass dies
- Steel dies
- Type and word blocks
Curved dies are also available for those products that need decorating on a non-flat surface. Let us review your CAD drawing as well as an outlined artwork file and we will handle this for you.
Pads and Cliché Plates for Pad Printing
A printing Pad is one of the most important parts of the printing process. The transfer of ink from the pad to the product needs to be clean, thorough and free from error. The quality of the silicon is also critical, as is the design of the pad. The shape needs to carefully match the requirements of the artwork.
Cliché plates are another vital part of the pad print to get right. The plates hold the image of the artwork that is going to be printed on to the part. The plate must be etched to the highest quality and use the best materials to get the crispest, cleanest print.
At PBE we produce both pads and cliché plates to give not only the initial set of consumables for your pad printer, but repeat and new project ones to support your operation.
Screen / Pad Printing Inks
For both screen printing and pad printing processes the choice of ink is based on a number of different factors.
Inks used in screen printing are typically thicker and more viscous, allowing them to create vibrant and durable prints.
Pad printing inks are generally thinner and more flexible to ensure they can adhere properly to a variety of materials and maintain clarity and durability.
Both methods require inks that are specially formulated for their respective processes to achieve optimal adhesion, colour retention, and longevity on the intended surfaces.
