What Is Screen Printing?
Screen printing, also known as serigraphy, is a method that uses a mesh screen, stencil, and ink to transfer a design onto a substrate. Ink is pushed through open areas of the screen onto the product beneath, while blocked areas prevent unwanted transfer.
Screen printing is suitable for many materials including plastics, paper, glass, ceramics, wood, and metal. It allows for vibrant colours, good ink coverage, and long-lasting prints, especially on cylindrical or awkwardly shaped items that require specialist handling.

The Screen Printing Process
Here's how screen printing works...
Setup & Loading
The operator sets up the machine by loading the screen with the desired design and placing the substrate (bottle, can, etc) onto the printing plate.
Automatic Ink Application
Unlike manual screen printing where an operator uses a squeegee to push the ink through the screen, an automatic screen printer uses a mechanical squeegee and flood bar system. The machine precisely controls the movement, pressure, and speed to apply the ink evenly across the screen.
