Project Process

To start the project right, we follow some key steps to ensure we provide you with the best solution for your printing needs.

Assessment of parts
  1. What is the part that you are trying to print on?
  2. What is the material / substrate?
  3. What artwork needs to be printed?

This stage helps us to understand what printing method needs to be done (hot stamping, screen printing or pad printing).
At this stage, we would ask for things like samples, CAD files and copies of the artwork. This review covers things like size, shape, complexity, colours required to print etc.

Assessment of batches / volumes
  1. Are the parts to be loaded by an Operator, or by a robot as part of an automated production line?
  2. Does the printing need to be done nearer the primary (moulder?) process or away from it?
  3. What are the volumes per day/week/month/year?
  4. What is a typical batch size?
  5. What “inspection” process is required to validate good prints. Human or machine?

This stage helps us to judge the type of machine required, the speed that it needs to operate, and what automation, if any, is required in the project.

Testing Phase

Once the process has been defined, we will run some print tests on your samples so that we can show you the type of print available. This also helps us to establish the correct grade of foil, heat transfers or ink for the project.

Quoting Phase

Once all of the above is done, we will move to a proposal stage. We will produce a report which shows you the current machine for the application and the right consumable for the job.

We will discuss things like lead time, acceptance testing at the factory and what the commissioning of the machine entails when it is set up in your location. We will even look to provide a “cost per print” so that you can judge your own Return On Investment figures, including what you may need to charge your customers.
