What Are Type & Word Blocks?
Type and word blocks are engraved or cast pieces used in hot stamping systems to apply repeatable text. These are typically mounted onto heated platens or die holders and pressed onto foil and the part surface to transfer the text.
Individual type characters are used for marking variable information such as date codes or serial numbers. These can be arranged in type holders and easily swapped or reconfigured as needed.
Word blocks are fixed plates that include pre-set text, such as company names, safety labels, or standard part numbers.
Both types are available in a range of sizes, fonts, and engraving depths to suit the surface being marked and the desired print clarity.
